I thought this book would be a take off of T2 (you know, John and Sarah Connor) with endless chases, first meeting mayhem, dark high jinks, and the trio saving humanity as a pseudo-family. None of this is spoilery because it’s all off page, the story starts after she’s rescued by Jeral, a warrior of Taraq Al Acadian’s 1st division. She’s a workaholic who takes risks with her own life and often fails to speak to her 15yo child for days at a time! One night she’s walking home from work through a sketchy part of town and she gets abducted by one of those evil refugee Kordolian nobles from the empire (you know, the ones who shouldn’t be on earth).
Setup: Kora is a trauma nurse and a single mother (in that order). No other alien romance series on the market - including the beloved IPB - can touch this one. I’ve read/listened to every book (the best of those multiple times).
